This article explains how Corporate Express meets customers’ needs of custom eProcurement catalogs. “A few years ago when customers began asking us for eCatalogs, the task wasn’t overly burdensome,” said Aiello. “But by last year, as the number of customers doing eProcurement grew to 200, Corporate Express realized we needed help to support the rush of new buyers wanting catalogs.” McInnis added: “In March, we chose Trigo Enterprise software, which should launch this month. That system will be used not only to support buying customers’ eProcurement systems, but also to manage the product catalog appearing on Corporate Express’ main Web site scheduled for a relaunch by the middle of next year.”

Corporate Express was ranked No. 4 for catalog sales in 2000. Catalog Age ranked the top 100 catalogs from mailers like J.C. Penney to hunting suppliers like AcuSport and gift mailers like Miles Kimball. Corporate Express was the biggest winner in terms of growth with a 193% sales increase over 1999 to more than $4.05 billion in 2000.
