Express is proud to make a difference in our communities.
As the “Official Office Products Sponsor of Special
Olympics USA,” we partner with Special Olympics
to help an extraordinary group of athletes and protect
our environment at the same time. During the first year
of our Special Olympics Inkjet Recycling program, Corporate
Express and its customers recycled almost 185,000 inkjet
cartridges, corresponding to $250,000 in donations to
Special Olympics. Currently in its second year, the
Special Olympics Inkjet Recycling Program continues
to grow as more and more customers realize how easy
it is to participate.
You can make a difference, too,
by getting involved with our easy-to-use recycling program.
Your office gets a little cleaner, the planet gets a
little greener, and some very deserving athletes get
a chance to find out just how far they can go.
How the Program Works:
By recycling your empty
inkjet cartridges, you can help the environment and
support your state’s Special Olympics program
at the same time. There are two ways to send your cartridges
to the recycling center:
BAGS
Simply place your used
cartridge in the postage-paid, self-mailer bag that
automatically comes with most new cartridges, and drop
it in the mail. For each cartridge we receive in recyclable
condition, we’ll donate at least 50 percent of
the proceeds, up to $1.25, to Special Olympics. (Tip:
placing your old cartridge in the manufacturer’s
packaging will protect the cartridge during shipping!)
BINS
If you use a large volume
of inkjet cartridges, you can collect your entire office’s
cartridges in a special bin provided by Corporate Express,
and Special Olympics will receive at least 50 percent
of the proceeds, up to $2.00, for each cartridge received
via the bin program. (Tip: Collecting cartridges in
bulk reduces costs and leads to more money for Special
Olympics!)
Recycling supplies are provided at no cost.
All inkjet cartridges except Epson brand are included
in the program. Cartridges must be received in recyclable
condition to qualify.
